A bulldog pet can be obtained from rescues, but high quality puppies are better to buy from the breeders.
These animals are very jovial, playful and friendly, and they are excellent companions for children. However, no dog can be left around children unsupervised, because a dog may unintentionally hurt a child. These animals are intolerant of heat and can be sensitive to temperature fluctuations. These dogs have short and smooth coat and wrinkled muzzle. They should not be bathed too frequently, because this may destroy natural oils of the skin. Wrinkles must be cleaned with a piece or dry and soft cloth every day.

The general appearance of these dogs should suggest great strength. According to the AKC breed standard, purebred dogs of this breed should stand from 12 to 14 inches at the withers and weigh 50 to 55 pounds. Females are smaller than males and don’t bear the characteristics of the breed to the same degree. The head of these dogs is very large, with flat forehead, protruding cheeks, and a deep stop. The muzzle is very short and turned upward. The eyes are small and set low down in the scull. The nose is broad and set deeply between the eyes.
